Michelle, thanks for your comment! I am so glad you liked these ideas. Our daughter is an acting major (and meteorology minor!). The Disney College Program is an internship program where they get to take classes on things like the Disney business model, while also working in the park. We haven’t been there since she was about 4, so we’re all excited to go back as adults! Thanks for reading Empty Nest Blessed! xoxo Suzy

    Shannon,
Actually, I do like Barry Manilow, just not as much as Bob! When we got to the concert, I knew lots of his songs and we had a great time. Bob was a trooper at Toby Mac as I am sure I was totally embarrassing hopping and dancing around. We are super excited about Disney and may even go more than once to see our girl! Thanks for your sweet comment! xoxo Suzy

When we were first married, we decided to have party for just us …just the two of us. We set up stations for fondue(one we’d gotten as a wedding present and not had a reason to use), favorite dips, and other finger food along we could afford and could eat leftovers along with drinks that we liked. We put on rock music that we liked and got dressed up. We danced, ate, and had a wonderful party just for us given by us. We still speak fondly of that event even after almost 50 years. We’ve done it again over the years but nothing has ever top that two person party❀️

Great date night ideas. We love listening to live music so we do go to concerts quite a bit. For a less expensive alternative we also keep track of live music at local bars. Admission is usually free and we have found several local musicians that we really enjoy and follow. I did have a laugh at your dining alfresco idea since temps in my area were below 0 last week!

      Suzanne,
(Great name, BTW!) I think your idea about finding local bands is so good! Concerts are expensive!
So sorry you can’t dine al fresco yet! We actually did that in Florida last week (a detail which I excluded because the post was already so long!). It def too cold in Dallas to do that too. (But not 0! 😬😬😬)
      Stay warm, sister!
      xoxo Suzy

Thanks for the shoutout, Suzy! When Mark and I are at Disneyworld, we feel like kids again! We hold hands and take our time soaking up the amazing atmosphere at the Happiest Place on Earth. As adults, we love staying at some of the nicer resorts and splurging on the dining plan, which saves money when we eat at the incredible restaurants. Disneyworld is definitely for kids of all ages!
